The embattled Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was a star attraction at the Democratic National Convention in Boston in 2004. Today he was jailed.
It was only last year that Obama was endorsing Kwame and looking forward to great things to come:

Troubled Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was sent to the slammer today.

Judge Ronald Giles sent Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick to Wayne County Jail for failing to notify the court of his trip to Canada and violating the terms of his bond.
Despite Kilpatrick’s humble apologies to the court beforehand, Giles said he needed to treat Kilpatrick as an ordinary citizen and sent him immediately to jail.
Giles revoked Kilpatrick’s bond and suspended all travel.
Kwame is a huge Obama supporter and has appeared on cover of Obama’s church magazine in the past.
