Stevens started out the day down 1,022 votes to Dem challenger Mark Begich.
By this afternoon he trailed by 2,374 votes.
Officials said they may complete counting about 7,700 absentee ballots today with another 2,500 ballots from military families overseas yet to arrive.
By the end of the day he trailed Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich by 3,724 votes after Tuesday’s count.

Here is the Alaska election website.

Stevens is the longest serving Republican in the senate and the “architect” behind the Bridge to Nowhere.

Maybe this will be the turning point for the Republican Party?
We can hope.
