Father Ted and my mother Dorothy during a recent visit to my home.
Eight years ago I made a wonderful decision. I moved my dear mother into my home. This amazing woman and mother of nine was having difficulty taking care of herself independently in Iowa. It was the best decision I ever made. The last eight years have been wonderful.
Unfortunately, my mother’s health has gone downhill over the past few years. After many surgeries and illnesses my mother suffered a stroke in May. Two weeks ago when I came in to check on her on a Sunday morning she had thrown up during the night. She was very disoriented and had no strength. She had suffered a heart attack. My brother helped me get her to the hospital. It has been very difficult to watch her suffer. This past week I put my mother on hospice and took her back home. If you would like to say a prayer for my family and my mother I would appreciate it. Thank you.
I will miss her dearly.
