Tucson Memorial Service – “Together We Thrive, Tucson and America”

Wow! They sure dragged in the college kids. They roared for Barack and Michelle when they walked in.

The horns were beautiful. What a nice touch.

They started the program with an Indian blessing… My, how times have changed.
He did pray for his son in Afghanistan.


Congresswoman Gifford’s husband is standing next to DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano.

Robert Shelton, University of Arizona President, is now speaking.

Shelton thanked Daniel Hernandez Jr., a student at the university, for saving Rep. GIffords’ life.

Jan Brewer thanked President Obama for attending the memorial service.
Brewer knocked it out of the park.

It’s a pep rally.
Obama is quoting scripture?

Will he go there? Will he get political?…
Judge Roll was a graduate of the university and law school. He attended mass every day.
Obama is talking a little about each victim. Nice touch.

“We cannot use this occasion to turn on each other.”

Obama lectures audience about playing politics.

Before the memorial they said that Obama would speak for 16 minutes…
He’s going on a half hour.
Oh well.

Overall… That was the best speech Obama has ever given.

The screaming in the stands by the kids was a little annoying though.
They need to discuss this at the next SEIU meeting.

Michelle Malkin called it a bizarre pep rally.
