Assistant Minority Leader James Clyburn wrote in a letter to a South Carolina newspaper that he abhorred the word ’racism’ and never used it.
“I have always abhorred the word ’racism,’” Clyburn said in the letter. “I never use it. I believe it is a lethal term, and I am offended that my honest responses to a reporter’s clearly designed agenda would be distorted in such a manner.”
Except, of course, when he does use it, like when he attacked Governor Mark Sanford for his racist policies back in 2009.
No wonder Clyburn is in a leadership position.
