Disgusting. Rep. Gerald Connolly (D-Virginia) scolded religious leaders who attended a House hearing today on religious freedom. Connolly suggested that Obama’s attack on religious organizations with his HHS mandate was not an attack on religious freedom. The rabbis and ministers at the hearing disagreed. The Rev. William Lori told the committee, “It is absurd for someone to come into a kosher deli and demand a ham sandwich. But it is beyond absurd for that private demand to be backed up with the coercive power of the state.”
