Dick Durbin Admits the Obama Sequestration Was “Designed as a Budget Threat, Not a Budget Strategy” (VIdeo)

Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) admitted to David Gregory on Meet the Press today that the Obama sequestration plan was just a political game and was never intended to move forward.

David, sequestration was designed as a budget threat, not as a budget strategy. And, I think all of us understand that if it goes forward in less than three weeks it’s going to have a dramatic negative impact on several agencies.”

It is well known that the sequester was the Obama Administration’s idea promoted during the July 2011 debt-ceiling negotiations. The sequester includes $1.2 trillion in mandatory cuts – half from the military, half from domestic programs. The deadline for the sequestration is March 1, 2013. Now that we are closing in on the date of impact the Democrats are finally admitting it was just a political ploy and they were never really serious about these cuts… or any other cuts to the budget.
It was just a political game to them.
