Dozens of couples have locked lips at a subway stop in Turkey’s capital, Ankara, to protest subway authorities’ admonishment of a couple that kissed in public.

Islamists yesterday attacked a group of kissing couples in a Turkish metro station, according to reports from the Daily Star Lebanon and local media outlets.
The couples, who were taking part in a ‘kissing protest’ against a ‘morality campaign’ by the authorities in Ankara, were set upon by violent Islamists.
One person was stabbed when around 20 Islamists chanting “Allah hu Akhbar” (God is Greatest) and some carrying knives attacked the demonstrators on Saturday.
Local news outlets only today reported the incident involving nearly 200 people.
The kissing protest was organised after officials in the Ankara municipality, which is run by Turkey’s ruling Islamist-rooted Justice and Development Party (AKP), admonished a young couple for kissing in the street.
