Congressman Calls for James Clapper to Step Down: “Perjury Is a Serious Crime”

Representative Justin Amash (R-MI) called on Director of National Intelligence James Clapper to resign today after leaks by Edward Snowden showed that Clapper lied to Congress in March about the activities of the NSA.

Amash also pointed out that perjury is still a crime in America.

On March 12, 2013, Senator Ron Wyden asked DNI James Clapper if the NSA collects data on millions of Americans. Clapper answered that no the NSA does not at least not “wittingly” collect information on Americans. Not true.
