Egyptian troops with armoured vehicles have secured the central Cairo studios of state television on Wednesday, security sources said.

Employees at Egyptian state TV said on Wednesday that army officers were present in the broadcaster’s newsroom shortly ahead of the 48-hour deadline set by the military.
Sources say the military is ready to scrap the constitution and dissolve the Islamist-led parliament.
