REPORT: Shots Fired at Kirkwood High School in St. Louis – School Delayed …Update: It Was Just Light Bulbs Breaking

Shots were fired at Kirkwood High School, one of the nation’s best high schools, this morning.

From the school’s website:

At appx 6 am this morning police received reports that shots were fired inside KHS. Police are taking every precaution and searching the building. KHS Teachers should report to Dierbergs on Manchester road.

All other KSD schools (KECC, Keysor, North Glendale, Robinson, Tillman, Westchester, Nipher and North Kirkwood Middle) will begin at the regulary scheduled start time.

At this time, KHS is on a delayed start (time TBD).
FOX2 Now reported:

Kirkwood police responded to a call for shots fired at Kirkwood High School. Police are blocking several entrances to the Kirkwood High School campus.

School has been delayed for the high school, but all other schools will start on time.

The Kirkwood police chief said there was a report of shots fired that came in just before 6 a.m. Officers are checking the building but according to the police chief, nothing has been found yet.

Kirkwood High School is scheduled to be in session Tuesday, the superintendent says they will delay the start of school. High school normally starts around 7:50 a.m. and now they hope to start around 9 a.m.

All buses and teachers were diverted to the Dierbergs in Des Peres, Mo.

UPDATE: FOX 2 is now reporting that it was just light bulbs breaking.
