Keystone Pipeline Clears Significant Hurdle – Far Left Environmentalists Hardest Hit

The Keystone Pipeline project was expected to create tens of thousands of high paying jobs in the oil industry. The project itself would create 20,000 construction jobs. And the pipeline would bring oil from Canada and North Dakota to refineries in the United States.

But it was just a big pipe dream.
Obama rejected the plan in 2011.

But today the State Department released a study where they found no major environmental objections to the project.
This will drive the anti-human left insane.
ABC News reported:

The long-delayed Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada moved a significant step toward completion Friday as the State Department raised no major environmental objections to its construction. The finding is likely to be welcomed by Republicans and some oil- and gas-producing states but is sure to further rankle environmentalists already at odds with President Barack Obama over his energy policy.

The department report stops short of recommending approval of the $7 billion pipeline, which has become a major symbol of the political debate over climate change. But the review gives Obama political cover if he chooses to endorse the pipeline in spite of opposition from many Democrats and environmental groups. Foes say the pipeline would carry “dirty oil” that contributes to global warming. They also worry about a spill.

GOP Leader Mitch McConnell released a statement following the news today: “This report from the Obama administration once again confirms that there is no reason for the White House to continue stalling construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline. So, Mr. President, no more stalling– no more excuses. Please pick up that pen you’ve been talking so much about and make this happen.

More… The Institute for Energy Research (IER) President Thomas Pyle issued the following statement in response to the State Department’s final environmental impact study of the Keystone XL pipeline:

“The State Department’s release of the Keystone XL report should give proponents no hope that President Obama will someday approve this much-needed, job-creating pipeline. He will continue to give excuse after excuse, but President Obama will never side against the anti-oil ideologues both in and outside of his White House, despite the tremendous benefits for this nation and the overwhelming public support from the American people. As long as Barack Obama resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, I have a better chance of getting drafted by the the New York Yankees than we have of breaking ground on the Keystone XL.
