What awful people.
Democrats know Obamacare is an albatross around their neck so their latest plan is to accuse Republicans of endangering domestic violence victims.
(The Guardian)
The Politico reported:
Democrats know their biggest problem in this year’s midterm election is Obamacare. So top party operatives have settled on a strategy to try blunting the GOP’s advantage: Tell voters Republicans would make the problem worse — raising prescription drug prices, empowering insurance companies and even endangering domestic violence victims…
…Another key theme of the strategy is to paint the Republicans as mere tools of the all-powerful insurance companies. One suggested talking point in the memo alleges the GOP’s approach would mean bigger bonuses for insurance company CEOs.
So, where did Democrats come up with this outrageous smear?
From the Washington Post, of course.
The WaPo reported in September that by dropping the “conscience clause” in the law that forces Catholic and Christian groups to provide birth control, etc. to their employees, providers may drop counselling for domestic abuse victims.
Yes, they really said that.
More… And it takes a certain amount of hubris to accuse Republicans of siding with the insurance companies after they included an insurance bailout in the Obamacare law.
