AFGHAN ELECTION: Would-Be Suicide Bomber Arrested at Polling Station in Faryab Province

Under threat of Violence – Afghans Vote in Historic Election
The country is voting for a new president today.
A would-be suicide bomber was arrested today in Faryab province outside a polling station.
Khaama Press reported:

A suicide bomber was arrested by Afghan police forces before he manage to enter a polling station in northern Faryab province of Afghanistan.

Deputy interior minister, Gen. Ayub Salangi said the suicide bomber was arrested in shirin district of Faryab province.

At least two people were killed and five others were reportedly injured following an explosion close to a polling station in eastern Logar province of Afghanistan.

No other major security related issue has been reported so far and people are overwhelmingly participating in the elections across the country.

In the meantime, interior ministry officials said at least two government employees have been arrested over electoral fraud in central Maidan Wardak province.

Interior ministry spokesman, Sediq Sediqi said the two state employees were looking to fill fraudulent votes in ballot boxes in the favour of a specific candidate.
