The Keystone Pipeline project was expected to create tens of thousands of high paying jobs in the oil industry. The project itself would create 20,000 construction jobs. And the pipeline would bring oil from Canada and North Dakota to refineries in the United States.
Obama rejected the plan in 2011.
He punted again last week.
This was despite the fact that the Obama State Department released a study earlier this year where they found no major environmental objections to the pipeline project.
Even MSNBC admitted today that Obama’s decision to delay the project was purely political and hard to defend.
