Oregon Health Plan Now Covers “Intersex Surgery” & MORE!

As of January 1st, 2015, Oregon’s version of Medicaid, Oregon Health Plan (OHP), has now expanded its coverage for transgendered persons and those suffering from “gender dysphoria”.

According to an FAQ put out by Basic Rights Oregon, a plethora of new “services” are available to those on OHP. You can qualify for OHP coverage if you make under 138% of the federal poverty level, which is $16,135.

Some of the new “services” covered include:

  • Hormone therapy
  • Puberty blockers
  • Hormone blockers
  • Urethroplasty
  • Amputation of penis
  • Scrotoplasty
  • Intersex surgery (both from male to female and female to male)
  • Construction of artificial vagina

And much more! All “free” to those on the Oregon Health Plan!
