The Providence Journal reports that Rhode Island Democrat Representative, Joseph Almedia has been arrested over suspected misappropriation of campaign funds:
“The Rhode Island State Police have arrested Rhode Island state Rep. Joseph S. Almeida for allegedly misappropriating $6,122.03 in campaign contributions for his personal use, the state police announced Tuesday afternoon.
Almeida, 57, of 299 California Avenue, Providence, was arrested Tuesday and charged with unlawful appropriation more than $1,500, according to the state police.”
