After his death local grievance activists put up a street memorial for Vonderitt on the southside where he was shot.
But the street memorial took a hit tonight.
It was flattened by a tree during a thunder storm.
The fierce storms also flooded several streets in downtown St. Louis Wednesday night.
KMOV reported:
There were many reports of damage and flooding around the News 4 viewing area as storms moved through Wednesday night.
MoDOT said four lanes are closed due to flooding near the I-44/I-55 split just south of downtown. There was also flash flooding on Park Avenue in south St. Louis. Flooding was also reported as a problem in St. Charles, Maryland Heights, and St. Ann.
According to Ameren, around 6,000 customers in the St. Louis area do not have power.
