Army Veteran Robbed, Shot and Paralyzed as Violent Crime Spirals Out of Control in St. Louis

There were at least three similar robbery-shootings in St. Louis in the past month.

Police arrested a suspect this weekend in the shooting and robbery of Chris Hanna. The suspect was beating his girlfriend police were called.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported:

A suspect in the shooting of a Cardinals fan downtown last weekend is in custody, authorities say.

Police Chief Sam Dotson tweeted Tuesday that “a person of interest has been identified” in the shooting of Christopher S. Sanna, 43, of House Springs. Dotson said the person was in custody in St. Louis County on unrelated charges.

Sanna was shot and possibly paralyzed during a robbery after he left Busch Stadium Friday night.

St. Louis County police arrested the man, 31, at 12:48 a.m. Sunday after his girlfriend accused him of punching her in the face and stomach at a home along the 12000 block of Horizon Village Drive in Spanish Lake. The victim told police he had a gun, and police found a gun in his car, according to court documents.

The man has previous felony convictions for resisting arrest and first-degree assault, according to the documents.

He was identified as a suspect in the shooting of Sanna after detectives saw surveillance images of a man using Sanna’s credit card after the robbery, according to the sources.
