Students at campuses near Philadelphia were put on alert after an internet threat was posted on 4Chan Friday.
The FBI and ATF issued a warning to local colleges after the threat was posted on Friday.

The threat was similar to the threat posted on 4Chan before the Umpqua shooting in Oregon last week.
NBC Philly reported:
Students at Philadelphia area colleges and universities were told to be alert Monday after a nonspecific threat of violence was made online.
The FBI and the ATF issued an alert to all Philadelphia area colleges and universities because of the threat of a 2 p.m. attack. The FBI released the following statement:
Out of an abundance of caution, the FBI Philadelphia Field Office notified local colleges and universities of a social media posting which threatened violence at a Philadelphia-area college or university for Monday, October 5.
No specific college or university was identified in the posting. We encourage students, faculty, and employees at area colleges and universities to follow the guidance of their campus security officials.
The FBI will continue to work with our federal, state, and local law enforcement partners to investigate threats of violence, and, as always, we ask the public to report suspicious activity to law enforcement.
“Although the FBI has assured us there is no specific threat to a particular college or university, we are taking this very seriously and are taking extra precautions to protect the Drexel community,” a Drexel University official wrote.
The threat was posted on 4Chan on Friday.
The user praised the Oregon shooter and promised a similar attack on Monday October 5th at 1:00 PM at a campus near Philadelphia.
