AWW: Elizabeth Warren Doesn’t Like Being Portrayed AS A COMMIE DICTATOR

Elizabeth Warren angry

If you watched the GOP debate last night, you may have noticed an ad that criticized the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau or CFPB. Warren has a history of involvement with the CFPB so her picture hangs on the wall in the background of the ad. This made the senator unhappy.

The Hill reports:

Warren in tweet storm on debate

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D) took to Twitter on Tuesday night to defend herself against an attack ad that portrayed her as a Soviet-style dictator.

“So… Can we talk about that ad that just ran during the #GOPDebate where I look like a Commie dictator?” Warren tweeted.

The TV commercial, which aired during the Republican debate hosted by Fox Business Network and The Wall Street Journal, included red banners with images of Warren and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) chief Richard Cordray. They hang above desks with workers rhythmically stamping documents.
“They call it CFPB,” a deep, ominous voice says.

The ad goes on to say that the agency, which Warren largely designed, is crushing American workers under a weight of oppressive bureaucracy.

Warren went on a Twitter spree to defend herself and the bureau.

“Wall Street has a problem,” she said. “They know the @CFPB is working, & it’s incredibly popular with the families it helps.”
