Jared Fogle was sentenced to 15 years in prison in November after pleading guilty to child pornography charges. Fogle was also accused of eliciting sex with a minor. You won’t believe what they blamed his crimes on.
Vocativ.com reported:

On Thursday, former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle pleaded guilty to child pornography charges and was sentenced to 15 years in prison by a federal judge in Indianapolis. He had faced a maximum possible sentence of 50 years.

A psychiatrist at Fogle’s defense blamed the ex-pitchman’s famous diet for his crimes. “Once he lost weight, it seemed as though in a short time he had hyper-sexuality,” the psychiatrist said in court. Fogle starred in a series of national TV ads after losing over 200 pounds on a diet of Subway sandwiches.

Posted on August 19th: Jared Fogle may have some trouble keeping the weight off when he begins serving a lengthy sentence in federal prison, where the “Club Fed” menu is a bit less healthy (and a lot less appetizing) than a daily footlong Veggie Delight.

Fogle, who lost 250 pounds on an all-Subway diet and served as the restaurant chain’s spokesperson starting in 2000, is likely going to federal prison after Wednesday’s announcement that he agreed to plea guilty to charges of sex with minors and possession of child pornography. Lucky for us, federal prisons have menus that are planned at least a year in advance so we can get a glimpse into what the weigh-loss icon will chow down on while he serves time in the slammer.
