For the sake of “inclusion,” everyone is excluded. In Minnesota, a state with a large Muslim population, a public elementary school has announced that they will no longer celebrate American holidays because it might offend immigrants.
Fox News reported that Bruce Vento Elementary School, in St. Paul, Minn., will stop celebrating “dominant holidays” like Valentine’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
“My personal feeling is we need to find a way to honor and engage in holidays that are inclusive of our student population,” said Principal Scott Masini in a letter to students’ parents.
“I have come to the difficult decision to discontinue the celebration of the dominant holidays until we can come to a better understanding of how the dominant view will suppress someone else’s view,” the principal continued.
The PC principal is afraid that a student who immigrated to America will see a picture of a turkey on Thanksgiving, be reminded they’re not in their country of origin, and become offended.
This is what the Left does. They turn perfectly American cultural norms into “offensive” traditions because a couple of Muslims might get offended.
I guess we’ll have to start making women wear burqas too, because some Muslim men might otherwise find it offensive that we treat women with respect in this country.
