Romney on Facebook: Vote for Ted Cruz Now So We Can Have Open Convention and Nominate a Real Republican

And, of course, the Cruz-bots see this as an endorsement of the Texan-Canadian and not a complete slap in the face.

Mitt Romney endorsed Ted Cruz today in Utah after cutting ads for Kasich in Ohio and Rubio in Florida earlier this week.

Is Mitt drinking?… Are we sure?

Romney’s argument: Vote for Cruz now so we can nominate a REAL REPUBLICAN at the RNC Convention in Cleveland.

Clue-bat Cruz-bots: It won’t be Ted.

This endorsement comes after Ted Cruz said Mitt french-kissed Obama two weeks ago.

And we’re sure Mitt is not drinking?

Via Mitt Romney on Facebook:

This week, in the Utah nominating caucus, I will vote for Senator Ted Cruz.

Today, there is a contest between Trumpism and Republicanism. Through the calculated statements of its leader, Trumpism has become associated with racism, misogyny, bigotry, xenophobia, vulgarity and, most recently, threats and violence. I am repulsed by each and every one of these.

The only path that remains to nominate a Republican rather than Mr. Trump is to have an open convention. At this stage, the only way we can reach an open convention is for Senator Cruz to be successful in as many of the remaining nominating elections as possible.
