Education Secretary Betsy DeVos Gets Beefed Up Security Following Assault and Threats by Violent Leftists

Last week far left protester Bilal Ahmed Askaryar was arrested after he blocked Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos from entering an elementary school in Washington DC. Askaryar is an Afghan refugee and NPR contributor.

Bilal Ahmed Askaryar was charged with assault for “impeding/assaulting US government cabinet member.”

Politico reported:

Askaryar, who entered his plea on Saturday in Superior Court in Washington, was given “several lawful orders” to move out of the way of a vehicle, and then pushed an individual identified as “V-1.” Listed as a factor under one of the charges is “impeding/assaulting US government cabinet member.”

Below is the video of the incident where protesters prevented DeVos from entering the school. In the video you can also see Askaryar arrested for committing assault.

Now this…
The US Marshals Service will now provide Secretary DeVos security due to threats from violent leftists.
Politico reported:

The U.S. Marshals Service has taken the unusual step of providing a protective detail to Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, who emerged from a contentious nomination process as a lightning rod of controversy.

DeVos last week was briefly blocked by protesters from entering a Washington middle school. One of those protesters has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges of assaulting a police officer stemming from the incident. Police said the man also physically tried to block DeVos’ vehicle.

Trump cabinet members now need special security due to threats by the left.
