Oregon – Police responded to reports of gunfire at the Hillsboro Airport on Monday. A masked man tried to steal a helicopter before gunshots were heard.
The masked suspect reportedly made it across the street from the airport to a field where police confirmed that he was shot and killed by police.

Emergency responders have blocked off the scene near Northeast Cornell Road at Brookwood Parkway; no immediate word on whether anyone was injured in the incident.
Employees at the airport told KATU News that someone tried to steal a helicopter at the airfield shortly before they heard gunshots.
Witnesses also tell our reporters that police followed a man in a mask and hoodie as he ran south toward the Washington County Fair Complex and Hillsboro Airport MAX Station.
