REPORT: Rupert Murdoch “Aggressively Agitating” Against Steve Bannon

Axios’ national political reporter, Johnathan Swan, reports FOX News owner Rupert Murdoch is now targeting former Breitbart News chairman and President Trump’s Chief Strategist Steve Bannon.

“I’m also told Rupert Murdoch is aggressively agitating against Steve Bannon,” tweeted Swan.

“The Murdoch-Bannon story will be a big one when the history of this period is written,” Swan added.

It’s likely there’s no love lost between these two. Shortly after Donald Trump winning the presidency, Bannon characterized Murdoch as a Globalist who got the President wrong.

The Hollywood Reporter wrote:

“They got it more wrong than anybody,” he says. “Rupert is a globalist and never understood Trump. To him, Trump is a radical. Now they’ll go centrist and build the network around Megyn Kelly.” Bannon recounts, with no small irony, that when Breitbart attacked Kelly after her challenges to Trump in the initial Republican debate, Fox News chief Roger Ailes — whom Bannon describes as an important mentor, and whom Kelly’s accusations of sexual harassment would help topple in July — called to defend her. Bannon says he warned Ailes that Kelly would be out to get him too.
