Senate Republican leaders stopped a planned vote on the latest Obamacare repeal bill on Tuesday, effectively admitting defeat in their latest attempt to overhaul the Affordable Care Act-which isn’t affordable for the Americans who actually pay for the disaster.
The New York Times reported:
“We haven’t given up on changing the American health care system,” Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the majority leader, said. “We are not going to be able to do that this week, but it still lies ahead of us, and we haven’t given up on that.”
Mr. McConnell said Republicans would move on to their next big legislative priority: overhauling the tax code, a feat that has not been accomplished since 1986.
Chuck Schumer (D-NY) gloated, saying, “We hope we can move forward and improve health care, not engage in another battle to take it away from people, because they will fail once again if they try.”
On Tuesday, Trump said from the White House:
“At some point there will be a repeal and replace, but we’ll see whether or not that point is now or will it be shortly thereafter, but we are disappointed in certain so-called Republicans.”
Apparently eight years isn’t long enough for these do nothing RINO’s to come up with something better than Obamacare.
Tuesday’s news shouldn’t come as a surprise. Never Trump Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) said Monday that she will be voting against the most recent Obamacare repeal legislation, effectively killing the Graham-Cassidy bill.
Susan Collins isn’t the only RINO who isn’t supporting the latest Obamacare repeal legislation.
As previously reported, Senator John McCain told reporters Friday he cannot support the latest Obamacare repeal bill.
His hatred for Trump and the working man takes precedence over his campaign promises.
John McCain ran his election campaign on repealing Obamacare, last week he said he would not vote for the repeal of Obamacare — again.
McCain also killed the bill in July when he gave a thumbs down in a midnight showdown.
Obamacare premiums in Arizona were up over 100% in 2016.
These lying politicians don’t care if the American people are stuck with Obamacare because they are exempt from the disastrous healthcare program. RINO’s like Collins and McCain get Cadillac insurance coverage while the peasants who pay their salaries get crumbs.
