Rare Details Emerge of Teenage Kim Jong-un’s Relationship with High School Sweetheart

He may not be much to look at, but North Korea’s Kim Jong-un had a girlfriend when he was a teenager. A rare report shines light on little known details about his relationship with high school sweetheart Nam Sung Wook.

Epoch Times reports:

The wild temper and rage that the world has come to expect from North Korea’s communist dictator Kim Jong Un was apparent from his early youth, according to a North Korea expert.

Kim was known for lashing out at his teenage sweetheart in high school, Nam Sung Wook, a former director of a think tank on inter-Korean studies, said.

When Kim’s 15-year-old girlfriend asked him to give up cigarettes, he exploded, showering her with obscenities. That outbreak foreshadowed the rhetoric that many world leaders have come to expect from the reclusive communist regime’s unstable leader.

“As Kim was smoking at a young age, his girlfriend advised him to quit smoking,” Nam said on Wednesday, Sept.6, according to Korea’s Yonhap News.

“Then, Kim exploded with foul language, which was quite shocking [to her],” he added.

“This rough manner he displayed made me think things would get complicated once he becomes the ‘king’ of the nation,” Nam said, according to the Korea Herald.

On Sunday afternoon Japan and South Korean officials confirmed North Korea conducted a hydrogen bomb test.

An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale centered in the area of North Korea’s nuclear weapons facility was reportedly followed by a 4.6 quake that appears to be a cave-in due to the test. The test is reportedly the strongest of the previous five tests since 2006.

On Tuesday North Korea was observed moving an intercontinental ballistic missile towards its west coast. The North Korean officials moved the missile at night to avoid detection.
