Socialist Bernie Sanders Delivers Policy Speech at Campus of Churchill’s Famed ‘Iron Curtain’ Speech

On March 5, 1946, former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill delivered his “Iron Curtain Speech” at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri. Churchill condemned the Soviet Union’s policies in Europe and declared, “From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic, an iron curtain has descended across the continent.”

Since that time Communism has been tried and failed in dozens of countries around the globe.

Afghanistan (1978-1992)
Albania (1946-1992)
Angola (1975-1992)
Benin (1975-1990)
Bulgaria (1946-1990)
Cambodia (1975-1989)
Congo (1975-1992)
Czechoslovakia (1946-1990)
Ethiopia (1974-1991)
East Germany (1949-1990)
Hungary) (1949-1989)
North Korea 1948-1992 (in 1992, all references to Marxist-Leninism were scrubbed. Remains generic “socialist” state)
Mongolia (1924-1990)
Mozambique (1975-1990) (my mom who is Portuguese lived here during this time)
Poland (1945-1989)
Romania (1947-1989)
Somalia (1969-1991)
Soviet Union (1922-1991)
North Vietnam (1945-1975) (then they won the war)
South Yemen (1967-1990)
Ukraine (1919-1991)
Yugoslavia (1945-1992)

Venezuela is this year’s failed Socialist state.

Now this…
On Thursday Socialist Bernie Sanders went to Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri to deliver a foreign policy speech.

Winston Churchill is rolling over in his grave.
