BEZOS BLINKS: Amazon Suspends Top Movie Exec Over Sexual Harassment Allegations

In a shocking tweetstorm, actress Rose McGowan accused Amazon CEO and Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos of covering up her rape.

Daily Mail UK reports:

Rose McGowan is claiming that Amazon optioned a television series from her only to kill it soon after when she voiced concern about a possible move the company was making to bailout Weinstein.

‘I told the head of your studio that HW raped me. Over & over I said it. He said it hadn’t been proven. I said I was the proof,’ said McGowan on Thursday in a tweet directed at company founder Jeff Bezos.

‘I had already sold a script I wrote to your studio, it was in development. When I heard a Weinstein bailout was in the works.’

She then added: ‘I forcefully begged studio head to do the right thing. I was ignored. Deal was done. Amazon won a dirty Oscar.’

That ‘dirty Oscar’ seems to be a reference to Casey Affleck’s Best Actor win for ‘Manchester by the Sea’ earlier this year, an award that Ben’s younger brother took home despite two women accusing him of sexual harassment.

Five days after sexual abuse allegations first were reported liberal actors and politicians finally condemned Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein on Tuesday.

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama finally released statements condemning the top Democrat donor and close friend Harvey Weinstein.

Even Hollywood actor Ben Affleck condemned Harvey Weinstein on Tuesday after he felt it was safe to release a statement.

Affleck’s former co-star Rose McGowan told Ben to “F*ck off!” and accused him of knowing about Weinstein’s abuse for years.

It’s not clear which press conference McGowan was referring to, but both she (left) and Affleck (center) appeared in the 1998 horror movie Phantoms (pictured), produced by Weinstein.(Daily Mail)

McGowan has been the leading female voice against Harvey Weinstein this week.

Now this…
Twitter reportedly suspended McGowan’s account on Wednesday.

Via The Hollywood Reporter:

The actress, who is at the center of the Harvey Weinstein sexual assault scandal, revealed the news on her Instagram and Facebook accounts.
Rose McGowan had her Twitter account suspended on Wednesday night.

The actress, who is at the center of the storm of sexual misconduct allegations against producer Harvey Weinstein, took to her Instagram and Facebook accounts to relay the news of her suspension, writing cryptically that: “TWITTER HAS SUSPENDED ME. THERE ARE POWERFUL FORCES AT WORK. BE MY VOICE. #ROSEARMY.”

She added a screenshot from a message from Twitter telling her that she had violated their terms of service and she would be locked out for 12 hours.

 Now this..
TV producer Isa Hackett has come forward to reveal vile behavior from top Amazon executive Roy Price. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Roy Price is Amazon’s programming chief. He plays a crucial role in Bezos’s new baby — his movie studio.

From The Hollywood Reporter;

On the evening of July 10, 2015, after a long day of promoting Man in the High Castle at Comic-Con in San Diego, Hackett attended a dinner with the show’s cast and Amazon staff at the U.S. Grant Hotel. There she says she met Price for the first time. He asked her to attend an Amazon staff party later that night at the W Hotel (now the Renaissance) and she ended up in a taxi with Price and Michael Paull, then another top Amazon executive and now CEO of the digital media company BAMTech.

Once in the cab, Hackett says Price repeatedly and insistently propositioned her. “You will love my dick,” he said, according to Hackett, who relayed her account to multiple individuals in the hours after the alleged episode. (The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed Hackett told at least two people about the alleged incident in the immediate aftermath.) Hackett says she made clear to Price she was not interested and told him that she is lesbian with a wife and children.

Hackett says Price did not relent in the cab or once they arrived at the Amazon party. As she talked with other executives, she says that Price stepped close to her and loudly said, “Anal sex!” in her ear.

Now this…

Amazon has suspended Roy Price, the frisky executive accused of sexual harassment. They are dropping like flies, aren’t they?

From Variety:

Amazon has suspended top entertainment executive Roy Price.

Roy Price is on leave of absence effective immediately,” and Amazon spokesperson told Variety Thursday. “We are reviewing our options for our projects we have with the Weinstein Company.”

The Amazon Studios president’s departure comes in the face of renewed sexual harassment allegations and multiple signs that Amazon and others in the industry had withdrawn their support from the embattled executive. Insiders have speculated for months about Price’s possible departure from his role as head of Amazon’s original-video arm. Multiple agents and producers who spoke to Variety in recent weeks speculated that such a departure may come soon.

“A long fight to get here but the awesome @kimmasters and Isa Hackett just made a $480b company blink,” tweeted Janice Min, owner of The Hollywood Reporter.
