Texas Church Gunman Devin Kelley Once Escaped From Mental Hospital

With each passing day, we learn more and more about the troubled past of Texas church gunman Devin Kelley. An avowed atheist, the Sutherland Springs killer was known as a heavily depressed introvert. According to a new report, Kelley escaped from a New Mexico mental hospital in 2012.

KHOU reports:

Devin Kelley was sent to the Peak Behavioral Health Services Center in Santa Teresa, New Mexico after beating his wife and child while stationed at Holloman Air Force Base.

On June 13, 2012, Kelley escaped from the center and fled across the state line to El Paso.

In the missing person report, Kelley was described as “a danger to himself and others as he had already been caught sneaking fire arms onto Hollomon Air Force Base.”

The report said Kelley “was attempting to carry out death threats” he had made on his military chain of command.

El Paso police arrested him at a bus stop and turned him over to New Mexico police.

On Monday, a former classmate of Texas church shooter Devin Kelley revealed new details about the gunman’s past to Infowars’ editor-at-large Paul Joseph Watson.

Kelley allegedly shot other people’s pets and posted a Facebook status on Saturday, saying “I’m f*cked up.”

“Person who went to school with Devin Kelley tells me he was an “emo” kid who hated Christians. Posted “I’m f*cked up” on FB Saturday night. Got in trouble for shooting people’s pets & generally shooting guns near people’s houses. Made numerous FB friend requests recently,” tweeted Watson.

A former neighbor of Kelley says the Texas church gunman shot their pet deer.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, former classmates of Texas church shooter Devin Kelley say he was a ‘creepy’, ‘crazy’ and ‘weird,’ person who preached about atheism on the internet. On Sunday, Kelley opened fire inside First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, outside of San Antonio, killing 26 people and injuring 24.

Patrick Boyce, who attended New Braunfels High School with the killer, told DailyMail.com: ‘He had a kid or two, fairly normal, but kinda quiet and lately seemed depressed.

‘He was the first atheist I met. He went Air Force after high school, got discharged but I don’t know why.

Nina Rose Nava, who went to school with the gunman, wrote on Facebook: ‘In (sic) in complete shock! I legit just deleted him off my fb cause I couldn’t stand his post.

As he grew older, Kelley’s social problems followed him into his work and family life. The Texas church gunman was reportedly court-martialed for assaulting his wife and child in 2012.
