Former Young Turks Reporter Filing Lawsuit Against the Outlet for Racial Discrimination

Andrew Jerrell Jones, who worked as a reporter for the Young Turks for several months this year, is set to file a lawsuit against the network for racial discrimination and wrongful termination.

Jones worked at the Young Turks from May 2017 to October 2017 and described being subjected to “deranged” treatment by his managing editor, Jonathan Larsen, in an interview with the Washington Babylon.

“Although I was never in the Los Angeles studio to see the daily treatment of staff from Cenk, there were still troubling signs I dealt with working remotely here in New York,” Jones told the outlet.

When he attempted to confront the network’s founder, Cenk Uygur, his request was ignored.

“I experienced several times Cenk’s apathy toward my real concerns over how dysfunctional, peculiar, and deranged the treatment I received from the man he hired as managing editor, Jonathan Larsen, as my supervisor. When I brought up claims of racial discrimination and requesting to meet with Cenk in person here in New York to talk to him about my major concerns, Cenk didn’t even bother to respond to any of my texts or social media messages, as he flew back to Los Angeles like he didn’t even know I existed,” Jones said.

Jones was also asked to sign a non-disparagement agreement in exchange for monetary compensation — which he declined.

The reporter also brought up the nepotism that the Gateway Pundit has previously reported on.

Jones stated that “Cenk thinks everything is going smoothly with his organization and doesn’t believe there are many internal problems caused by his (and his high-school buddies at the top) leadership, or lack thereof. It is a shame that a supposedly progressive news outlet like The Young Turks sadly has a myriad of the awful practices of the corporate, elite media outlets TYT slams on a daily basis.”

According to a longtime friend of Uygur, who asked to be kept anonymous for the time being, there is a massive culture of nepotism at the network — which lead to Piker becoming their rising star despite the fact that he is a massive pig.

“Cenk’s nephew Hasan Piker routinely talks about who at the office he has slept with and one said, ‘I told Cenk he needs to get some better pussy in here,’” the source told GWP. “When Hasan is talking about ‘quality pussy’ at the top of his lungs, he’s doing it three seats away from Dave Koller, head of Human Resources and predator of 14-year-olds.”

Koller, as we previously revealed, authored a diary-style post on the Young Turk website about an eight day long road trip with Uygur in 2005. In the post, he discusses meeting a group of girls, in a small Pennsylvania, who appeared to be between 14 and 16 years old. He recalled asking them if they have ever had sex and described them as “whores in training” and “little spoiled brat bitch young American girls on their way to becoming abused porn actresses or dispensable property in a New York City prostitution ring.”

He also detailed hitting on teenagers with Uygur in a separate incident during the trip,  in the presence of their parents.

The Gateway Pundit has also previously reported on racist commentary from both Uygur and Koller. Koller remains the head of human resources at the network and would be the person responsible for handling claims of discrimination or sexual harassment.

In a July 21, 2001, post about lawyers for 34 Native American tribes filing a lawsuit against tobacco companies for deliberately targeting Indian teens, Uygur wrote that “these Redskins show up everywhere there’s a buck to be made these days (by the way, I actually think Redskin is a rare ethnic term that actually is offensive, I’m only using it now because they’ve made me angry).”

“Now, you’re going to try to convince me that these Indian kids would not have smoked if it weren’t for the big bad tobacco corporations.  Bullshit.  They saw the peace pipe buried up your ass long before they ever saw a cigarette ad,” he wrote.

Uygur also claimed that Japanese women will sleep with American men for purses.

“I hear the same is true in Japan for American men.  Every American is John Wayne to a Japanese girl who needs a new purse, a grammar lesson in English and a decent sized penis for a change,” Uygur wrote.

Uygur even acknowledges that he is making “grossly libelous (and probably untrue) ethnic generalizations,” yet still felt it was worthy of publishing online.

In a post about a road trip he had went on with Uygur, published on the Young Turk website, former Democratic congressional candidate and co-founder of the Young Turks Dave Koller wrote that in Memphis “the main post office is in the black part of town, and this was one motherfucking cool part of town. I mean these negros were the real deal. I’m not saying the town was a horrible ghetto. It was, but we’ve all seen worse. I mean these po’ black people just hanging out in the heat – this you don’t see quite like this in the northeast.”

He also wrote that later the same day, “we went to the Civil Rights Museum, which was made in the motel where MLK was assassinated.  As soon as we got out of the car I launched a bottle rocket in the parking lot. “

The Gateway Pundit has reached out to Jones for comment and will update if one is made available.
