Russia Dossier Author Was Told FBI Had a ‘Source’ Inside Trump Campaign
Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) unilaterally released Fusion GPS’s full testimony from an August 2017 interview Tuesday.
Congressional investigators interviewed Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson about the Russia dossier; Republican leaders pushed back on the release of the transcript.
The author of the dossier, former British spy Christopher Steele was told the FBI had a ‘source’ inside the Trump campaign feeding the FBI agents information.
The former British intelligence officer that authored the so-called Trump dossier was told the FBI had someone inside President Trump’s world giving FBI agents information.[…]
“[M]y understanding was that they believed Chris at this point — that they believed Chris might be credible because they had other intelligence that indicated the same thing and one of those pieces of intelligence was a human source from inside the Trump organization,” Simpson said in his testimony, referring to Christopher Steele, the dossier’s author.
Simpson claims Christopher Steele originally went to the FBI because he was concerned Donald Trump was being blackmailed, fearing a “national security threat”.
The FBI reportedly told Christopher Steele in September of 2016 they had similar intelligence from an “internal Trump campaign source”.
Papadopoulos…is that you?
Another explosive claim from the transcript is that someone was killed over the Russia dossier which is the reason Glenn Simpson gave as to why he would not disclose who this mysterious internal Trump campaign source was.
Josh Levy, an attorney for Glenn Simpson said in the closed-door interview over the summer that somebody’s already been killed because of the Russia dossier!
Chuck Ross of The Daily Caller said, “It’s been theorized that this is ex-KGB guy Oleg Erovkinin, who was chief of staff to Igor Sechin. But he was killed under suspicious circumstances on Dec. 26, 2016, before the dossier was published.”
It’s obvious the ‘internal source’ is Trump campaign volunteer George Papadopoulos. The entire thing was a set up.
It’s obvious from the Fusion GPS op-ed last week that it’s Papadopoulos. https://t.co/cGn3AV0dNa
