Ukraine Launches Massive Drone Barrage Deep Into Russia, Killing Six and Destroying Huge Retail Warehouse (VIDEO)

Massive fire broke out at the Wildberries warehouse in Russia after Ukrainian drone strikes.

launched one of its largest aerial attacks of the war on Sunday, sending hundreds of drones deep into Russian territory and killing at least six people.

Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed its forces intercepted 822 Ukrainian drones overnight, while Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said approximately 600 were detected heading toward the Russian capital.

Around 200 were reportedly destroyed over the Moscow region itself.

An 83-year-old man was killed after a drone struck a private residence in the Moscow region, according to regional governor Andrey Vorobyov.

The attack also sparked a major fire at a Wildberries warehouse in Podolsk, continuing a series of Ukrainian strikes against facilities belonging to the Russian online retail giant.

Meanwhile, local authorities said more than 150 drones targeted three towns in Russia’s Rostov region.

Regional governor Yury Slyusar said five people were killed, while homes and a railway station were damaged and a forest fire broke out.

Ukraine has dramatically expanded its ability to strike deep inside Russia using domestically produced drones and long-range missiles.

These weapons have increasingly targeted energy facilities, infrastructure and industrial sites.

President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed Ukraine had also used its domestically produced Flamingo missiles to strike a rocket research and production facility in Samara, roughly 900 kilometres from the Ukrainian border.

Russia simultaneously launched another wave of attacks against Ukraine.

A Russian missile strike on Kryvyi Rih killed two people and wounded 14 others, according to Zelensky, while another person was reported killed in Sumy.

Two more people were killed when a Russian strike hit their home in the southern Zaporizhzhia region.

Attacks in Kyiv also sparked fires and wounded six people.

Russia said its forces targeted a metallurgical plant in Kryvyi Rih as well as Ukrainian military-industrial facilities in Kyiv, including a site involved in manufacturing Flamingo missiles.

Meanwhile, the war again spilled into NATO airspace.

Romania’s Defense Ministry said a Spanish F-18 conducting NATO air-policing operations shot down a drone that entered Romanian airspace early Sunday.

The aircraft detected the drone by radar before receiving authorization to engage and destroying it shortly after 5 a.m.

Romanian authorities did not immediately identify the drone’s origin.
