Former Chicago Mayor and Obama Henchman Rahm Emanuel Warns Dems Not to Pursue Another Trump Impeachment (VIDEO)

Former Chicago Mayor and possible 2028 presidential candidate Rahm Emanuel has urged Democrats not to pursue an impeachment of .

In an interview with Kristen Welker on NBC’s Meet the Press, Emanuel argued that impeachment would be a waste of time and urged his party to pass ethics reforms instead if they were to take back control of Congress next month.

“I’m for the investigations. Hold this administration accountable, which is what the Republican Congress and Senate have refused to do, which is why, rather than set up a wedding party in your registry at Williams Sonoma, this administration allows Donald Trump Jr. to allow the Kremlin to be where you register,” Emanuel said.

“They paid $170,000 for a wedding party. And nobody thought it was wrong. That tells you the sense of impunity that’s operating,” he added.

Emanuel, who served as ’s chief of staff during his first term and has repeatedly been touted as a possible 2028 presidential candidate, said that Democrats should pass an ethics package instead.

“You’re never going to get an impeachment,” he continued. “Then if you do that, you just basically proved all Washington is what the American people think.”
